Draft recommendations of the working group on Youth Engagement topromote energy security and sustainable energy practicesIntegrating Youth Perspectives into Regional Energy Policy Processes: Youth organizationsshould be given a permanent place in regional decision -making processes on energy and climate.This can be achieved by creating formal structures where youth advise and collaborate withpolicymakers and officials on energy policy both proactively and reactively.Support the formation of youth -led advocacy networks: These can mobilize around energysecurity and climate change issues. These networks can collaborate on campaigns, influencepolicy, and raise public awareness on key sustainability issues.Advancing Green Education and Workforce Development: Promote access to green educationby integrating sustainable energy topics into existing programs, strengthening collaborationbetween universities, and offering internships, mentorships, and forums. Foster lifelong learningopportunities to engage students and adults in the energy sector , ensuring a skilled and motivatedworkforce for the future.Ensuring Inclusive and Transparent Youth Participation: Promote diversity and inclusion inyouth involvement by ensuring that young people from various social, ethnic, and nationalbackgrounds have equal opportunities to participate in energy -related decision -making. Fostertransparent communication and educate youth on active citizenship an d democratic rights,creating an accessible framework that allows for meaningful contributions to sustainable politicaldecisions in the Baltic Sea Region.Empowering Youth in the Energy Sector: Encourage energy companies to create opportunities forpassionate youth to contribute their ideas and innovations. This can be achieved by developinginternships, mentorships, and collaborative projects that provide real -world experience, makingeducational programs more valuable an d enabling young people to make a tangible impact in theenergy sector.
