Energy efficiency on BSPC agenda in Visby
Energy efficiency and climate change will be the main themes of the Baltic Sea Parliamentary Conference (BSPC) in Visby, Sweden, 1-2 September.
Sinikka Bohlin MP, a member of the Nordic Council and the current chair of the BSPC, will welcome parliamentarians from the countries around the sea to the event.
Two of the main items on the agenda will be energy efficiency and climate change. On the first day, the delegates will be brought up to speed on progress in the work to combat eutrophication in the Baltic.
Energy supply and safety will be discussed on day two. Maritime policy is also on the agenda, as well as a report from the working party on labour market and social issues.
On Sunday 31 August, the day before the conference starts, delegates will be invited to take part in three different excursions focusing on the main themes of the event. The trips will take in the Lilla Bjers organic farm, the company Biogas Gotland AB and Slite ice rink, which is highly energy efficient.
Sweden will pass the chair of the BSPC to Denmark after the September gathering in Visby.
