Åsa Wikforss, Professor of Philosophy at Stockholm University and member of the Swedish Academy, addresses delegates in Mariehamn during the final debate of the 34^th Baltic Sea Parliamentary Conference. In her intervention, she warned of the corrosive effects of disinformation and algorithm-driven fragmentation on democracy, recalling Hannah Arendt’s dictum that opinion is meaningless without facts.
